Guitar duo spielART was founded in 1998 by Horst Sattlegger and Helmut Weinhandl. Tight ensemble playing, a powerful common pulse and a skillful interpretation of a range of styles are the hallmarks of this dynamic duo.

Their CD “Sonata Fantasia”, launched in 2003, was featured in the national media, including public national radio and earned high praise from composer Paulo Bellinati: “You did a wonderful job with ‚Jongo’, it is one of the best duo-versions I´ve ever listened to so far”.
The CD was followed by concerts both in Austria and abroad as well as recordings for Austrian radio.

Both musicians graduated from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, Austria under Heinz Irmler and attended master classes with Alvaro Pierri, David Russel, Alexander Swete and Michael Tröster. They lecture at the Conservatory of Carinthia, the University of Music in Graz and the Wildon Music School and teach at the international guitar workshop Benediktbeuern, the Hersbruck international guitar festival and at Popular Guitar in Aflenz.
